While it’s true that our beloved France can boast a rich and tasty gastronomy, Morocco certainly has nothing to be ashamed of. This Maghreb country is full of comforting delights, which we love to enjoy in every season: tajines, bricks, msemmen… One of the French’s favorite Moroccan (and North African) delights is the famous couscous. This simmered family dish, with meat or vegetables, has been a favorite of the French for several years now. And what if we told you that the best couscous in Paris and Ile-de-France was in Paris? It’s Darkoum. A tiny address, located in the 14ᵉ, that offers exceptional couscous, cooked in the traditional way. And believe us, it’s well worth the detour.
The best couscous in Paris and Île-de-France is in the 14ᵉ.
For over 30 years, this small Moroccan restaurant, still very confidential, has been delighting gourmands in the 14ᵉ arrondissement. Here, you’ll enjoy typical Moroccan dishes: chicken-olive tagine, or tender lamb confit… But the real star here is couscous! With chicken, merguez, vegetables or royal, we love it in every way. Cooked over a low heat in a traditional tajine dish, or even over coals depending on the recipe, it’ s all the flavours of Morocco on your plate. An explosion of flavors that will take your taste buds to new horizons without leaving Paris. What’s more, the portions are ultra-generous and gourmet, and could almost be shared with the person sitting next to you! No wonder this couscous was voted the best in Paris and the whole Paris region!

The restaurant also offers traditional dishes not often found in Paris, such as Tanjia or Rfissa, which is made with vegetable broth, lentils, msemmen and lots of other delicious things: a real treat. In short, Darkoum is all about generosity! A warm and friendly address that will delight even the most demanding palates, we’re sure.
