An iconic destination just 1 hour from Paris
In the heart of the historic district built on the Rock, the streets are pedestrian-only, the facades take on warmer colors, and small squares replace the
wide avenues along the seafront. Highlights include the Prince’s Palace, the ramparts, and several viewpoints overlooking the entire Mediterranean.
A little further down, Port Hercule offers a different view of Monaco. Lined with yachts and terraces, it remains one of the liveliest spots in the principality. It’s also here that the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit runs, with certain sections open to the public the rest of the year.
But Monaco also has plenty to offer in terms of nature. The Exotic Garden, perched on the cliffside, offers one of the most beautiful views of the French Riviera. The more secluded Larvotto Beach is a great spot to enjoy the sea, while the coastal trail toward Cap-d’Ail leads to much quieter coves.
The principality is easy to explore on foot, and you can go from the seaside to the hills in just a few minutes. If you stay for a weekend, you can easily alternate between strolling, swimming, relaxing on a terrace, and day trips to Menton or Èze.
And this year, Monaco will also host one of the most spectacular stops on the E1 Series, the world’s first championship dedicated to all-electric boat racing. After Lake Como and Dubrovnik, the competition will make a stop in one of the most iconic settings on the calendar.
Launched in 2024, the E1 features RaceBirds—electric boats equipped with foils capable of lifting themselves above the water and reaching speeds of nearly 90 km/h. The championship also attracts several prestigious team owners , such as Rafael Nadal, Didier Drogba, Will Smith, and Tom Brady.
It’s hard to imagine a more fitting setting: between Port Hercule, the yachts, and the cliffs plunging into the Mediterranean, Monaco seems almost tailor-made to host this type of event. It’s a way to extend the historic link between the principality and motorsports…but this time on the water.
Easily accessible from Paris by plane or train via Nice, Monaco remains one of those destinations that successfully blends heritage, the sea, and spectacular sights. It’s the perfect getaway as soon as you start craving some sunshine.
