Le Parisien recently published its “barometer” of the metro’s most reliable and punctual lines. Thanks to this study, we learn a little more about the general state of the network, but also about each line on a case-by-case basis. So, which lines are the most reliable? And on the contrary, which of the fourteen lines are the worst performers?
Which Paris metro line has the most incidents?
On the front page of Le Parisien this Thursday, December 19, the big barometer of reliability and punctuality on Paris metro lines. Generally speaking, there has been a slight overall improvement in traffic, five years after Covid and the major repercussions the epidemic had on transport. This brightening is due in particular to a successful recruitment campaign during the year and to general improvements.
Firstly, Le Parisien analyzed the average waiting time between two trains over the period December 2023 – November 2024, and the evolution of this data. The most punctual lines are line 1 (1:45 minute average wait), line 5 (2:04) and line 2 (2:08). On the other hand, you’ll have to wait longer on line 10 (3:31 minutes), line 8 (3:10) and line 12 (2:50).
The newspaper’s second subject of analysis with this study: the rate of incidents on the lines. To carry out this analysis, all peak-time stops of over 4 minutes between May and November 2024 were recorded. Not surprisingly, line 13 was the least reliable line on the network, with 256 incidents. It is closely followed by lines 8 and 4, with 154 and 143 long stops respectively. On the other hand, if you want to travel with greater peace of mind, take lines 10, 1 and 14.
