It’s one of the most anticipated events of the Parisian summer, and it’s already confirmed for 2026: Cinéma Paradiso will make its grand return from July 1 to 4, 2026, in the majestic Cour Carrée of the Louvre. For four evenings, this iconic Parisian venue will once again transform into a massive open-air movie theater.
A free outdoor cinema in a magical setting
Watching a movie under the stars, in the heart of the Louvre, on a giant screen, in a festive, summery atmosphere: that’s the wonderful experience awaiting us this summer. Over the past several years, the event conceived by Mk2 in partnership with the Louvre Museum has established itself as one of the best cultural highlights of the summer in Paris, and the 2026 edition has just been announced.
In 2026, the format is expected to remain true to what has made it a success. Thus, every evening, visitors will be able to enjoy a large-scale outdoor screening, preceded or accompanied by entertainment, DJ sets, concerts, and a food selection designed to extend the evening.

In previous editions, the lineup has featured cult films, premieres, and reimagined classics. In 2025, audiences were treated to Sofia Coppola’s *The Virgin Suicides* , Wong Kar-wai’s *In the Mood for Love*, and *Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me* as a tribute to David Lynch. For 2026, while the detailed lineup has not yet been revealed, it is expected to once again blend popular cinema with more niche selections. What we already know is that Joachim Trier’s film Julie (in 12 Chapters), for example, will be featured.
In just a few years, Cinéma Paradiso has succeeded in creating a unique format in Paris. While other open-air screenings rely on a park or a lawn, here it is the monumental setting of the Louvre that makes all the difference. Once night falls, the historic facades become a cinematic backdrop in their own right.
From July 1 to 4, 2026, the Louvre will therefore not only be a museum: it will also once again become one of the most beautiful open-air cinemas in Paris. And as in previous years, admission will be free, with tickets allocated via a lottery system and a limited number of tickets available each evening.
