Unfortunately for festival-goers and music lovers alike, we’ll have to wait until the summer of 2027 to attend Lollapalooza. The iconic festival will not be able to open this year, due to a lack of artists and resources… On its official Instagram page, organizers state, ” Various factors inherent in organizing a festival of this magnitude cannot be met to fulfill our ambitions for 2026. “
Lollapalooza cancelled this year…
According to the organizers, the iconic festival cannot be staged in 2026… And there are several reasons for this. First of all, the headliners are too few this year to satisfy the general public… But there are also economic reasons. Financing an artist represents a considerable cost for the festival, which receives no subsidies and must comply with strict French regulations.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that a David Guetta or Justin Timberlake concert represents a considerable expense: accommodation, fees for the performance, logistics… All this is in addition to insurance, which has risen by 56%, according to figures from the Centre national de la musique (CNM). According to the CNM, 80% of festivals are facing financial problems.
Let’s hope that the next edition, scheduled for 2027, will live up to public expectations.
