Every year, the medieval city of Provins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, literally transports young and old alike back to the Middle Ages. Following its 40th anniversary edition in 2025, France’s largest medieval festival returns on June 13 and 14, 2026, with plenty of surprises in store. History buffs, fair ladies, and noble gentlemen, meet in the heart of this medieval gem that is Provins!
A medieval celestial ballet for the 40th anniversary of Les Médiévales

Last year, Les Médiévales de Provins celebrated its 40th anniversary! For the occasion, a major new feature was introduced: a light drone show that dazzled spectators. As night fell, hundreds of drones lit up the sky over Provins for a medieval celestial ballet. But what does this grand 2026 edition have in store for us?

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, the city of Provins is also known for its must-see medieval festivals. In winter, the city also shines with its medieval Christmas market, offering families a holiday stroll straight out of another era. This year, over two days, the Médiévales de Provins will once again transform the city into a massive open-air medieval festival. In a festive atmosphere, artisans, fire-eaters, troubadours, street performers, and other artists will bring the city’s streets to life.

On the program: medieval dances and music, street performances, numerous stalls, and the chance to discover the craftsmanship of period trades (blacksmithing, calligraphy, leatherworking…). The program is punctuated by a must-see event of the Provins Medieval Festival: the traditional Medieval Ball, held on Saturday evening at Place du Châtel, followed by a grand concert. On Sunday, to bring the festival to a spectacular close, 700 people will parade in period costumes during the traditional Sunday parade.
