It’s a 3D set of unparalleled splendor that the LEGO giant has adapted: a 1552-piece set inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s famous oil painting “La Nuit Étoilée ” (currently also highlighted in a must-see exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières)… And it’s splendid!
June 1889: Vincent Van Gogh creates his own Nuit Étoilée

It was in the Saint-Paul de Mausole asylum, where he was interned at his own request, that the tormented Vincent Van Gogh created his now-famous Starry Night, one day – or night – in June 1889. Fascinated by the light and landscapes of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Van Gogh was inspired and visibly calmed to produce no fewer than 150 paintings and drawings in the space of a year. Among these creations is the renowned painter’s most famous painting , “Starry Night”. A night sky dotted with twinkling stars, spirals that seem to echo his inner turmoil… At the heart of this most fascinating oil on canvas, Van Gogh’s Starry Night seems to be an ode to hope, reverie and resilience…
A fan imagines a 3D set of Starry Night, LEGO markets it!

In recent years, the fascination surrounding “Starry Night” has shown no signs of waning. This year, in fact, it is the source of inspiration for the Atelier des Lumières in Paris, which has decided to devote an immersive exhibition of the same name to “Van Gogh”, evoking Van Gogh’s chaotic and poetic inner world, between light and shadow. At the heart of the “LEGO Ideas” website, a collection of fan ideas, a man named Truman Cheng, alias “Legotruman”, came up with a LEGO set inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night, the fruit of his fascination for the painter and his interest in the LEGO universe. From the outset, the craze was such that the project garnered the support of tens of thousands of fans. LEGO will bring this fabulous project to life with a 3D Starry Night set comprising 1552 pieces, including a figurine of Van Gogh adorned with paint palette and brush, painting his swirling, star-filled night in Saint-Remy-de-Provence.
Art lovers and die-hard LEGO construction fans can have a field day with this fascinating 3D set featuring one of the world’s most famous works by Vincent Van Gogh.
