LEGO® Jurassic World by Brickman arrives near Paris
Followingits international success, with over 1.5 million visitors, the exhibition will soon be coming to Paris. The concept: recreate the creative universe of Jurassic World, one of the most popular sagas in cinema history. All in little LEGO® bricks. The exhibition presents Steven Spielberg’s world of dinosaurs as never before.
The transition from the big screen to the real world is attracting huge crowds. And the success is largely due to the ambition of the exhibition project.More than 6 million LEGO® pieces were used to make all the models. What can you expect at LEGO® Jurassic World by Brickman?
Created by Australian designer Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught, in collaboration with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, this immersive adventure takes visitors on an interactive journey through the adventures and characters of Jurassic World. It features over 50 giant dinosaurs and activities recreating the settings of the iconic saga.
The exhibition begins by passing through the iconic Jurassic Worlddoors . Standing 4 metres high, they give access to the island that reveals how the laboratory works. You then enter the baby dinosaur enclosure, featuring a life-size brachiosaur made from almost 2 tons of LEGO® parts. There’s also a huge T-Rex, a favorite of many Jurassic World fans.
One of the big attractions of the show is the Baryonyxmodel , a fan favorite. It weighs 400 kg,took 790 hoursto create with 102,317 LEGO® pieces, and measures no less than 4.8 m long, over 1.5 m wide and 2.5 m high.
The exhibition also features an interactive section where visitors can create a LEGO® sculpture and become a “Brickman” themselves , thanks to a host of activities: island building, LEGO® paleontology, mosaic creation, hybrid dinosaurs, and learning how to track a dinosaur by creating species footprints. In all, over 2.5 million pieces are available to the public.
Thousands of hours of model building
As exhibition creatorRyan McNaught explains:
Some of these models are the most complex and difficult we’ve made to date, so it’s fantastic to be able to present them. We’ve created and used new techniques and invested thousands of hours in the construction of these models, of which I’m incredibly proud.
For the record, the exhibition required 11,000 hours to build the models, plus another 2,000 hours for design and production, for a total of 13,000 hours of construction.
