When we think of Paris, it’s true that nature isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Yet the Île-de-France region is full of hidden gems: castles, parks, forests, and estates…. But sometimes, all it takes is a quick metro ride to get your nature fix. Head to Parc de la Villette , which has just opened the largest farm in Paris. A vast 15,000-square-meter space dedicated to biodiversity. Want a tour?
The largest farm in Paris, nestled in Parc de la Villette

This true haven of peace, dedicated to raising awareness about living creatures, will transport you to another world. You’ll find a field where you can admire various species of birds from specially designed observation decks. An ecological garden with cultural, educational, and social purposes, complete with a vegetable garden. A 20th-century industrial hall, beautifully renovated into a shelter for certain animals, as well as vast pastures to accommodate farm animals.

You’ll be able to see sheep, rabbits, donkeys, goats, chickens… Everything is designed to ensure they feel at home, and that the presence of visitors doesn’t disturb their peace….

As you can see, the idea here is to observe nature, understand its various cycles, and learn to live in harmony with it. Throughout the year, visitors of all ages can participate in a variety of fun and educational workshops: “caretaker for a day,” gardening workshops, beekeeping, and more. A true escape from the hustle and bustle of Paris, open every day of the week for the whole family to enjoy!
