In Paris, gastronomy doesn’t just shine on the plate: it’s constantly inventing and reinventing itself. While the capital remains the realm of bistros, Michelin-starred restaurants and chefs, it also knows how to break free from codes. Out of the kitchen, new experiences sublimate the art of dining. These include “La Soirée Criminelle“, an original concept halfway between gastronomic dinner and immersive theater. How does it work? Between two courses, guests slip into the shoes of investigators to solve a case worthy of Agatha Christie’s novels.
Several Parisian establishments, including Iguana Batignolles (18th) and Solis Bar & Restaurant (17th), have already adopted this singular format. Reservations are now open, and fans of unusual experiences are already flocking in.

La Soirée Criminelle
Be warned! A corpse has been found in the Louvre! An art historian has organized a grand reception at the Louvre (and yes, you’re invited). The champagne is flowing, the guests are chatting and toasting, when suddenly Madame Irma realizes that something isn’t quite right… Is it really the Mona Lisa? It looks like an imitation! We’ve got to call the police! And when the investigators arrive on the scene… Surprise: a corpse strewn across the floor. But what’s going on? It’s up to you to find out…
This is the starting point for La Soirée Criminelle, a game of investigation and mystery that takes place with actors and among the audience, between each course. What’s more, guests can choose to quietly enjoy the show while they dine or, if they prefer, they can get involved and actively participate, becoming part of the story as investigators or even suspects. That’s the charm of the experience. Each player chooses his or her own mode of play.
In short, every evening is different, and no two Criminal Evenings are alike. The perfect outing for colleagues, couples, friends or family…

La Soirée Criminelle can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. It’s an initiative that has already spread to several countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, the Netherlands…) and, in France, has already won over the capital. In Paris, several restaurants are offering this experience on their menus. Reservations can be made at :
- L’iguana Batignolles (17th)
- Solis Bar and Restaurant (17th)
These restaurants offer a special, exclusive atmosphere, with spaces that transform into theaters, breaking the fourth wall. The experience includes a three-course menu, which you can find online, and, of course, the show with live actors.
