Spring has just begun to show its face. And the first event to enjoy with the family this season is, of course , Easter, which falls on April 5, 2026. Blossoming trees, chocolate eggs, children’s laughter, a holiday on Monday, April 6… everything invites you to take it easy, for young and old alike, during a long weekend. And for the occasion, why not take part in France’s biggest Easter egg hunt?
The largest Easter egg hunt in France, April 4, 5, and 6, 2026

To do so, head to the sumptuous Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, located 50 km southeast of Paris, in the town of Maincy. At the heart of this 17th-century masterpiece, enchanting events punctuate the seasons, such as the Christmas strolls or the summer Candlelight Evenings, illuminated by 2,000 candles. And at Easter, the estate hosts France’s largest egg hunt, set amidst its 33 hectares of French gardens. On April 4, 5, and 6, children (and their parents) will set off in search of multicolored eggs, scampering through the paths armed with a scroll.
5 egg hunts, suitable for all ages, in a 33-hectare Garden of Eden

To ensure everyone can participate, no fewer than five different egg hunts have been designed, tailored to each age group. Throughout this chocolate-filled quest, actors from the Compagnie Les Arlequins will bring the estate’s iconic animals to life, creating encounters that are as surprising as they are fun. One thing is certain: every child will leave with a lovely chocolate haul!
Easter with an “Alice in Wonderland” theme, pony rides, and creative workshops

And that’s not all: plenty of Easter activities await the little ones, including pony rides, face-painting booths, and creative workshops. Another surprise this year: the theme of this Easter edition promises to enchant young and old alike— Alice in Wonderland. For the occasion, the estate has paid meticulous attention to every detail: mischievous animals, porcelain tableware, and decorations inspired by Alice’s tea party, all set in a poetic and fantastical world. And for once, the Grand Salon at Vaux-le-Vicomte will also be completely transformed into the enchanting world of the fairy tale.
In this vast green setting, come share a moment of joy and wonder with your family this Easter. A true spring tradition at Vaux-le-Vicomte!
