A much-loved event for lovers of Japanese culture, the Matsuri Festival will return to the Parc Floral de Paris from May 8 to 10, 2026, with a brand-new edition. For three days, this aptly named event will transform the park’s paths into a true matsuri—the name given to traditional folk festivals held in Japan.
A free festival to transport you to Japan without leaving Paris
As usual, the festival will take place in the lush setting of the Parc Floral, in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes. The program promises to stay true to the spirit of previous editions, offering a complete immersion in Japanese crafts, cuisine, and music. Visitors will be able to stroll among the artisans’ stalls, discover traditional objects, and attend cultural demonstrations throughout the weekend.

On the culinary side, street food will be on the menu, and several stands will offer typical specialties, allowing visitors to sample different facets of Japanese cuisine. The goal is to recreate the atmosphere of Japanese folk festivals, where gastronomy is an integral part of the experience.
As for entertainment, concerts and performances are also planned, and traditional music, cultural activities, and shows will punctuate the three days. The event remains accessible, as admission to the festival is free once park entry has been paid. Visitors will thus be able to freely enjoy the activities and the pavilions set up for the occasion. And to extend the experience, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the site’s bonsai collection, considered one of the premier public collections in Europe.
With its stalls, concerts, and cuisine, Matsuri promises to be one of the must-see events for a trip to Japan… without leaving the 12th arrondissement!
