For one week in October, Essaouira becomes one of the most anticipated events on the region’s calendar. MOGA Festival returns from September 30 to October 4, 2026, for a special 7th edition, and the lineup lives up to the occasion.
Over the years, MOGA has become Morocco’s longest-running electronic music festival and the first project of its kind to expand internationally (to Portugal since 2021, Spain, and soon Brazil). But it is in Essaouira, its hometown, that the festival has grown the most, propelling the city to the status of a new “Kingdom of Electronic Music.”
Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and ANOTR headline the festival
The first announcement for this year’s festival packs a punch. Jamie Jones, a British house music icon who has built his legacy through residencies in Ibiza and on international stages, will take to the decks on Moroccan soil for the first time. The Martinez Brothers, proud representatives of New York house music, are making a comeback that’s been twenty years in the making.
And the Dutch duo Anotr, now one of the most talked-about acts on the current scene thanks to their “No Art” concept, will close out the festival. A cutting-edge, cosmopolitan, and globally open musical selection, presented in an intimate and sunny atmosphere—that has been MOGA’s signature since its inception.
But MOGA has never been just about headliners from abroad. This first announcement also spotlights the Moroccan scene, featuring a brand-new B2B set between Daox and Amine K—two figures whose careers reflect the growing influence of Moroccan electronic music. About thirty other names already round out this first wave, ranging from recognized pioneers to emerging talents. IN and OFF: Two Highlights in a Single Week
The festival’s structure remains true to its formula: two distinct phases that transform the entire city into a playground, before shifting to a more intimate setting.
From September 30 to October 1, the festivities kick off with MOGA OFF, two days of completely free cultural programming throughout the medina: DJ sets, concerts, surfing, yoga, outdoor movies, workshops, and meetups, taking place at 37 partner venues across the city.
Then, from October 2 to 4, it’s time for MOGA IN. The festival takes place at the Hôtel Le Golf d’Essaouira & Spa, transformed into an immersive village in the heart of the palm grove, featuring four stages and a craft market. The added value? An experience that blends electronic music, wellness, fine dining, surfing, and crafts—far beyond the typical concert format.
Ten years after its first edition, MOGA has lost none of the energy that made its reputation: a discerning musical selection, strong local roots, and a fusion of the worlds of Ibiza and Essaouira in a “hippie chic” atmosphere. With Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and Anotr already announced, this anniversary edition promises to be one of the most memorable in the festival’s history.
