This magnificent island, nestled on the Seine, has inspired the greatest Impressionist artists. From Van Gogh to Monet and Sisley, they all set up their easels here to try to capture the beauty and serenity of the place. Considered the Impressionists’ island closest to Paris, it offers a very rejuvenating 4-km walk along the Seine that is particularly enjoyable.
