When temperatures rise, the lines grow longer outside Parisian ice cream shops. Among the capital’s most sought-after spots is Une Glace à Paris, a shop that has succeeded in turning ice cream into a true work of art.
One of Paris’s best ice cream shops is tucked away in the Marais
The adventure began in 2015 when Emmanuel Ryon, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France ice cream maker, and Olivier Ménard, a world pastry champion, opened their first shop in the Marais district. Their ambition at the time was simple: to apply the same standards to ice cream as those used in haute pâtisserie.
The result quickly set them apart from traditional ice cream shops. Here, classic flavors sit alongside much more unexpected creations. Smoked vanilla, black sesame, coconut and lime, caramel from various origins, and combinations inspired by iconic desserts: the menu evolves regularly with the seasons and the inspiration of the two founders.

The shop has become particularly famous for its ice creams inspired by desserts. Some recipes draw direct inspiration from the millefeuille, the Mont-Blanc, or the Paris-Brest. Others showcase rare ingredients sourced from carefully selected producers.
The shop is also known for its ice cream pops, crafted like individual pastries. Beneath their chocolate shells lie combinations of textures and flavors that are more reminiscent of fine desserts than traditional ice cream.
All in all, this is a wonderful spot that stands out from the capital’s other ice cream shops. As the heat settles over the city and Parisians desperately seek a bit of cool relief, this spot is more than ever one of the summer’s must-visit gourmet destinations.
