To take an active part in International Women’s Rights Day, Ground Control is organizing not one day of events, but three! Encounters, blind tests, concerts and DJ sets, take a look at these 72 hours of committed, artistic events!
Three days of events at Ground Control
Why hold a single International Women’s Rights Day when you can devote more time to exposing the condition of women and their words!
Ground Control will be taking advantage of March 8, the day chosen worldwide to highlight women’s rights, to put the spotlight on them and on women! International Women’s Rights Day, in its extended version, means three days of militant, artistic and festive events to showcase women and what they have to say!
Neo-winegrowers, feminist blind tests, stand-ups and concerts
Starting on Thursday 6, Ground Control will be talking career transition and gobbledygook with neo-women winemakers who have changed careers to make their mark in the still very masculine world of wine! Come and chat with these grape-loving women who are overturning the established order!
On March 7, Les Nanas d’Paname will be at the helm for an evening celebrating the power and value of the feminine! The 100% feminine line-up includes stand-up, DJ sets, a blind test, a participative fresco and a workshop to prepare a sign to be waved at the march the following day!
For the official day, meet Mathilde Levesque, author of the book Procès Mazan: Une résistance à dire le viol, and after the march, make way for the after-demo! Ground Control will be hosting an evening organized by Nous Toutes Paris Nord, combining militant action and party fun! On the menu: community village, concert by Thérèse and Fausta, dj set by Toilettes Mixtes, voguing performance by Noam Sinseau and stand-up!
On the 9th, the day after the fiesta, the fight and celebration continue with a day spotlighting female (street) artists! Frescoes, a reflection on the question “Do you have to be naked to enter a museum?” and a special edition of The Gros Marché with a host of female designers and vintage/second-hand vendors to round off an intense weekend!
