There are hundreds of ways to travel without crossing the ring road… You just have to know where to go! Today, we’re taking you on a journey through all climates, thanks only to the greenhouses of Paris! Move from cactus desert to Amazon jungle, observe Mexican butterflies and Japanese bonsai, breathe in the scent of flowers and marvel at the sheer size of tropical plants. Here we go!
The Auteuil greenhouses, the best-known in the 15th arrondissement
Located on the outskirts of Paris, in the Jardin d’Auteuil, itself situated in the Bois de Boulogne, the Serres d’Auteuil are absolutely sublime. The 1900s-style blue-green glass roofs are home to many varieties of tropical plants. Smaller than those in the Jardin des Plantes, we love their unique scenography: when you walk through them, you really feel like you’re in the jungle!

The greenhouses of the Jardin des Plantes, the largest in Paris
Divided into four sections, the greenhouse offers a veritable world tour under glass. From tropical rainforests to deserts and arid environments, New Caledonia and the history of plants. You’ll wander from a cactus forest to an exuberant jungle filled with banana trees, lianas and ferns. A change of scenery guaranteed! The huge, cathedral-like art deco building is worth a detour in itself.

Les Serres du Square Vaillant, small but beautiful
The small greenhouses in Square Vaillant are more a meeting place for local residents than a tourist attraction. Which doubles their charm. A quiet, restful space, ideal for a stroll at the end of the day.
🪴50 Avenue Gambetta, 75020 Paris
The most modern greenhouses in the Parc André Citroën
Huge greenhouses (15m high) in a very square modern style, surrounded by magnolias, which fit in perfectly with the park’s architecture. One serves as an orangery from October to April, the other is dedicated to southern vegetation. You can also take a tour of the six small greenhouses above the Sériels gardens, whose many varieties of flowers and plants appeal to all your senses.

The greenhouses of the Parc Floral, a tropical greenhouse of great design
While the Parc Floral is a popular destination in summer, it’s not to be overlooked in winter! In addition to its tropical greenhouse and butterfly house, the park boasts a bonsai house, as impressive for its collection of miniature trees as for its Japanese architecture. An extremely zen ride.
