Pulling off a real two- or three-day ski getaway without getting bogged down in logistics is often a challenge. That’s the whole appeal of Arc 1800, and more specifically the village of Le Charvet: a pedestrian-friendly spot where everything is within walking distance, from the first runs of the morning to an acoustic après-ski by candlelight.
Do it all on foot, from the slopes to the terraces
Arc 1800 is often nicknamed “the hyperactive one,” and it’s well deserved. Le Charvet has everything you’d expect from an ideal base camp: slopes just a step away, lively terraces for lunch in the sun, a few shops, a bowling alley for the afternoon, and above all, the authentic atmosphere of a pedestrian-friendly village.
No engine noise, no cars to park. Come evening, the plaza offers what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful free spectacles in the Tarentaise: a sunset that sets the entire valley ablaze with the Mont Blanc massif in the background.
Retro-modern charm by Charlotte Perriand
Take the time to look around Le Charvet has a wonderful surprise in store. Opened in the late 1960s, the village is the brainchild of a visionary collective led by Charlotte Perriand, who made it the starting point for a particularly bold architectural vision. Designed to be in constant dialogue with the mountains, the buildings hug the slope without ever blocking the horizon: a sleek, graphic ensemble that blends seamlessly into the Alpine ridges.

The après-ski experience you didn’t expect: candlelit concerts
Located in the heart of Le Charvet—one of Arc 1800’s pedestrian villages alongside Les Villards, Le Chantel, and Charmettoger—the Bernard Taillefer Center hosts acoustic après-ski concerts just a few steps from Mont Blanc.
This venue pays tribute to one of the resort’s pioneers. With its 1,100 m² of flexible space and massive floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the peaks, this facility hosts everything from large-scale events to more intimate gatherings, thanks to its 700 m² hall and state-of-the-art equipment.
It’s in this idyllic setting that the weekend’s icing on the cake takes place: the Candlelight concerts. As night falls, the space dims and is illuminated by hundreds of candles to host acoustic music sessions. Listening to these melodies after spending the day on the slopes, with the snow-capped peaks right outside the window, gives après-ski a whole new flavor.
