Just a stone’s throw from Paris, a massive new hub could soon emerge. In an underground space spanning over 2,500 square meters, this decommissioned metro station is set to become a massive hybrid venue featuring a club, bar, and restaurant.
A 2,500-square-meter station soon to be transformed into a cultural venue
Beneath the city of Noisy-le-Grand lies an unusual place that few residents of the Paris region know about: Station SK, a ghost subway station that was never opened to the public. Built in the early 1990s, this small underground line was intended to connect the Noisy-le-Grand-Mont d’Est RER station to a future business district. But the real estate project never materialized after the developer went bankrupt, leaving the station completely abandoned for over thirty years.

With its deserted platforms, stationary train cars, and walls gradually covered in street art, the site has, over time, become a legendary spot for urban explorers. But this underground wasteland will not remain frozen in time. After several years of uncertainty, a transformation project has been relaunched, with the goal of creating a vast cultural and festive third place within this space of over 2,500 square meters.
The idea is to preserve the metro’s raw architecture while incorporating new uses. The future space is expected to house a bar, a restaurant, cultural spaces, and recreational activities. Among the ideas being discussed are a climbing wall, an arts program, and areas dedicated to events or exhibitions. The project aims to transform this former station into a hybrid space that is at once cultural, athletic, and welcoming.

Initially announced for 2025, the project has nevertheless been delayed. The latest information now points to a target opening around 2027 or 2028, following the relaunch of a call for proposals and the preparation of the necessary work. The municipality thus aims to breathe new life into this unique site and turn it into a new hub of attraction for the southern part of Seine-Saint-Denis.
This future venue is expected to preserve the underground spirit that has made the station famous today. The impressive spaces, existing graffiti, and raw atmosphere will, of course, be integrated into the project’s identity. The goal is to transform this ghost subway station into a vibrant space while respecting its history and unique aesthetic.
While the timeline has yet to be finalized, Station SK is already shaping up to be one of the most original projects in Greater Paris. Combining industrial heritage, urban culture, and new entertainment venues, this former abandoned station could well become a must-visit spot in the coming years.
