Between the many sculptures signed by the artist and the flowers that color the place all year round, you’re in for a complete change of scene!
An immense garden overlooking the Invalides dome
In this haven of peace in the heart of the capital, it’s a good idea to take your time. Here, you can admire some forty sculptures designed by Auguste Rodin, including one of his most famous: The Thinker . As you stroll through its bucolic alleys, you won ‘t want to miss the lovely rose garden surrounding the Hôtel Biron. The latter houses the artist’s permanent collections, including sculptures, drawings and photographs.
At first glance, it may seem strange to admire so many sculptures in a garden. However, the artist himself made a habit of doing so, in order to show the general public his latest creations. Take the time to stroll through the year-round flower lanes and admire the beauty of the setting. As you stroll along, you’ll catch a glimpse of the glittering dome of the Invalides and even a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower . A breathtaking secret viewpoint.
Every summer, the public will be allowed to picnic on the lawns during the nocturnes, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as during the day on Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy the relaxing setting and cool shade of the large pool. You can only visit the garden for 6 euros per person, Tuesday to Sunday, and it’s free for under-25s… Please note that the garden is closed on Mondays.
