The sun is back, and with it comes a wild craving to eat lunch outdoors. Some are team terrace, while others prefer the Canal Saint-Martin for a quick bite, lulled by the lapping of the water. A chance for some to grab a sandwich… or some fries! We’ve actually found the perfect spot for that: Patate. The first bar entirely dedicated to fries!
Patate: Paris’s first fries bar
Located near Saint-Michel, this tiny fry shop had a brilliant idea: to serve only traditional fries, every day, until they run out of stock. And let’s just say right off the bat: they don’t mess around when it comes to fries. They’re made with fresh potatoes every day, then double-dipped in vegetable oil to ensure they’re crispy.

No delivery! A good fry is best eaten fresh: perfectly crispy, golden, and piping hot. At Patate, you can choose from three cone sizes and 10 sauces: mayonnaise, barbecue, truffle, tarragon… All homemade sauces! Foodies can add toppings like Parmesan, Cheddar, or Comté cheese.

And for those who think fries alone won’t be enough to fill their stomachs, rest assured that the shop is very generous with its portions. As a rough guide, the large size can feed three people and is often chosen to be shared…
A great spot to fill up on fries from noon until night.
