The heat wave is in full swing, and unfortunately for us, it’s sweltering. So we’re trying to cope as best we can by seeking refuge in parks, swimming pools, and beaches near Paris. The La Baleine aquatic center, located in Saint-Denis, has pulled out all the stops: it’s opening its pools for free to all residents of Plaine Commune, starting today and until further notice. That ’s great news!
A free swimming pool just outside Paris
No more excuses to cool off! In Saint-Denis, this massive pool has decided to treat its residents by opening its huge La Baleine aquatic center for free. Bathed in light thanks to its magnificent glass roof, this pool features a large, pleasant 25-meter lap pool for swimming your best laps, a splash pad for the little ones, and even a 10-meter diving pit…

While for residents of Plaine Commune, this pool is completely free during a yellow heat wave alert regardless of age (upon presentation of proof of residence), for others, admission costs 4.60 euros per adult, 3.60 euros for youth aged 11 to 24, and 1.70 euros for children under 6…
A wonderful initiative that will allow more people to cool off!!
