You may look forward to it eagerly every year as spring approaches. Hanami at Parc de Sceaux is a magnificent event open to all. In its huge park lined with cherry blossoms, the estate is transformed into a veritable poetic painting, attracting thousands of visitors every year. However, this year things will be very different… Damaged by a parasite, the trees will be protected. To access them, you will need to reserve a time slot…
A hanami unlike any other this year
This year, Parc de Sceaux will be taking strong measures to protect its trees. Its magnificent cherry trees are victims of a pathogenic fungus and are also greatly weakened by the constant trampling of visitors each year. While this fungus is harmless to humans, it can attack the health of the trees if no action is taken. In order to protect access to the trees during flowering, you will need to book your visit via the castle’s official website. Picnics under the cherry trees will be possible by reservation free of charge for the day, with a limit of 3,500 people per day. The rest of the park will also be open for lunch on the grass.

Please note that the RER B will be undergoing construction between Denfert-Rochereau, La Croix-de-Berny, and Robinson in both directions on April 4, 5, 6, 18, and 19. To access the park and the château, replacement buses will be in service between the Porte d’Orléans and Bourg-la-Reine stations. Finally, to enjoy the cherry blossoms in peace, the estate recommends booking during the week and, if possible, in the morning. To reserve your slot, visit the official Domaine de Sceaux website on March 15.
