When summer is in full swing, the city of Cluj, nestled in the heart of Transylvania, becomes the haunt of electronic music fans from all over the world. This is where the UNTOLD Festival is held, one of Europe’s biggest music events, attracting international artists and several hundred thousand festival-goers year after year. Just a 2? hour flight from Paris, it’s one of Europe’s not-to-be-missed events.
The 3rd best festival in the world is 2.5 hours from Paris
Created in 2015, the festival started modestly but has since enjoyed a meteoric rise. It quickly established itself as the biggest music festival in Romania, bringing together several hundred thousand people from dozens of countries. From its very first editions, UNTOLD has set very high standards with spectacular performances, ambitious visual productions and a unique energy on stage.
Each year, the festival occupies several emblematic venues, including the Cluj Arena, the Central Park and other festive spaces scattered around the city, giving the impression that the whole city is alive to the rhythm of the concerts. For four days, stages come alive at all hours, offering total immersion in an atmosphere made up of electronic music, house, techno, trance and a myriad of other genres.
What sets UNTOLD apart, beyond its impressive scale, is the quality and diversity of its programming. Recent editions have attracted some of the biggest names on the world music scene. In 2025, for example, top artists such as Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Post Malone were on the bill, offering unforgettable shows and sets to the tens of thousands of festival-goers in attendance.
The 2025 edition, which celebrated the festival’s 10th anniversary, confirmed the scale of the phenomenon: over 470,000 people attended UNTOLD, making the event not only a highlight for electro fans, but also a major cultural event in Europe. In 2026, the festival will take place from August 6 to 9, and already promises to be explosive.
