From June 8 to October 4, L’École des Arts Joailliers presents an exceptional exhibition: Daniel Brush, the art of line and light. Here, visitors can discover the work of Daniel Brush, a brilliant New York artist who remains relatively unknown in France. More than 75 pieces of jewelry, sculptures, and paintings reveal his fascination with light through his work with various materials such as steel and gold. Let yourself be captivated by his works, some of which are leaving his New York studio for the first time. You’re in for a real treat!
Daniel Brush, the genius who revealed light

Drawer, philosopher, jeweler… Daniel Brush (1947–2022) was a true jack-of-all-trades. Self-taught, he sculpted challenging raw materials to reveal their inner light. Throughout the exhibition Daniel Brush: The Art of Line and Light, visitors are captivated by dazzling works such as the Rings ofInfinity, with their lines patiently engraved into aluminum. The magic continues withthe Orb, a sublime marriage of pure gold and steel. Discover work of absolute poetry, halfway between contemporary art and precious objects.

A dazzling exhibition, followed by exclusive workshops

Immerse yourself in the world of Daniel Brush and let yourself be swept away by the hypnotic colorful reflections of “Thinking about Monet.” With this engraved steel ensemble, the artist offers a vibrant interpretation of the paintings of Impressionist master Claude Monet, whose use of light fascinated him. Next, make way for poetry with the delicate animal brooches from La Ménagerie Magnétique, crafted from resin and precious stones.
Extend the experience with a unique cultural program: a demonstration workshop on craftsmanship to better understand the artist’s genius, a guided tour with an expert to explore all facets of his work, and several free creative workshops where children can, for example, create their own jewelry inspired by the works in the exhibition…
Bonus tip? Head to L’Escarboucle, the bookstore at L’École des Arts Joailliers, to flip through a new book about the artist and his work. Discover never-before-seen photographs of his studio and his works, as well as texts by the two curators of the exhibition: Olivia Brush, artist and wife of Daniel Brush, and Vivienne Becker, jewelry historian, journalist, and author.
