A new street art exhibition this December? Head for Galerie Brugier Rigail, which presents the works of M. Chat, an emblematic figure in French urban art! On view from now until January 2025!
M. Chat, the feline star of street art
Even a quick glance is all it takes to recognize M. Chat’s signature style. With his familiar and beloved character, a cat with a generous, mischievous smile, the Franco-Swiss artist Thoma Vuille (real name) is undoubtedly one of the best-known figures on the French street art scene. M. Chat, his character inspired by Alice in Wonderland ‘s “Cheshire Cat”, was born in the streets of Orléans. Since its birth in the late 90s, the creature has never left his side!
The artist has also taken him all over the world, to New York, Dakar, Rennes and Paris of course! Endearing and mischievous, the feline surprises and seduces passers-by at every street corner. In December, you can meet the yellow cat in a gallery in the 3rd arrondissement!
M. Chat: Origine(s) Vandale( s) exhibition
For this exhibition, M. Chat : Origine(s) Vandale( s), which opens in mid-December, M. Chat is not on the walls of the city, but on those of Galerie Brugier Rigail!
The artist presents a series of works (acrylics on canvas/plane) set in urban spaces, a major source of inspiration for the artist! In this way, M. Chat continues to make Paris his playground! Here, he can be seen napping at the foot of Notre-Dame, there on the zinc roofs, on an excursion to the outskirts of Paris or on the banks of the Loire!
