The M.C. Escher exhibition in Paris: from the studio to the visual labyrinth, a mesmerizing journey
Designed as a true visual odyssey, the journey explores Escher’s origins—from his travels in Italy to his first engravings—to reveal his most famous masterpieces: Relativity, Hand Holding a Reflecting Sphere, Sky and Water, and Metamorphosis II. Each work is a small aesthetic revolution, combining mathematical rigor and graphic poetry.
But that’s not all! This unique exhibition unveils some of his rarely exhibited worksespecially for the Monnaie de Paris, such as preparatory drawings for banknotes that were never produced, as well as commemorative coins minted for the centenary of his birth, which enrich this journey between art and numismatics (the science of studying coins). A fascinating nod to Escher’s influence far beyond the usual scope.
