For a winter getaway from the hustle and bustle of the capital, this park, 1h20 from the capital by TGV, offers a very special activity: a ride through the forest on a Christmas train! Throughout December, you’ll be able to take a ride with Santa Claus himself, aboard a beautiful vintage steam train.
A trip to the forest on Santa’s train
To immerse yourself in the magic of the festive season this year, there are many options available, including enchanted markets, ice rinks and illuminations. But for a truly unusual activity, head for the Morvan regional nature park and the Combes park, where you can board an incredible vintage steam train decked out in Christmas colors.
From December 6 to 24, with three departures a day, the steam train will set off from the Avenue de l’Europe station and travel several kilometers through the heart of the Parc des Combes. With a bit of luck, the snow will be on its way, and the train will wind its way through a snow-covered forest, making the experience all the more unforgettable.
In addition to the magnificent ride, the little ones will also have the chance to meet Santa Claus himself, as he takes part in the adventure on the red-and-white train. Each trip will also include the distribution of treats, as well as the showing of Christmas cartoons on the return journey.
