
This year, there are plenty of celebrations in Paris to mark the Year of the Wooden Snake! And next weekend, the lively Bastille district takes its turn to celebrate Chinese New Year. On the program: 40 Asian food stalls, the traditional lion dance, colorful shows and workshops. We tell you all about it!
An ultra-festive, gourmet Chinese New Year at Marché de la Bastille
If you’re looking to celebrate Chinese New Year in Paris, you’re spoilt for choice! While the traditional parade in the 13th arrondissement is getting ready, another event is taking place in Bastille. On Saturday January 25, from 12pm to 9pm, the Marché de la Bastille will be the scene of a monumental Chinese New Year. And the day promises to be as festive as can be.
On the program:
- Artistic performances on the main stage. Traditional dances, music, martial arts demonstrations… The essence of these shows is to reflect the richness and diversity of Chinese culture.
- On January 25, 2025, a veritable Rue de la Gastronomie dedicated to the flavours of China will take place on the Marché de la Bastille. No fewer than 40 Food stalls will be on hand to introduce you to traditional and/or modern Chinese gastronomy.
- Calligraphy and Chinese painting workshops are also on the program. Interactive cultural activities to discover different forms of traditional Chinese art.
- There will also be an exhibition on the theme of the environment.
