In recent years, Cédric Grolet has become a household name. Whether it’s for his little jewels sculpted in the shape of fruit, or for the sometimes exorbitant prices of his famous trompe-l’œil, the star pastry chef leaves no one indifferent. But nothing seems to stop the enthusiasm of Paris’ most Instagrammable pastry chef. This October, he is preparing to raise the curtain on his new establishment, and not the least: a chocolate shop bearing his name, evocative of a delicious return to childhood.
“Cédric et la Chocolaterie”, the new address everyone will be talking about in Paris
Called “Cédric et la Chocolaterie”, this regressive boutique is of course a reference to Tim Burton’s famous film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. For Cédric Grolet, it’s a childhood dream come true. And the least we can say is that the decor of this new address is spectacular. After more than three years’ work on the project, this fourth concept joins the chef’s existing boutiques in the capital.

And right from the entrance, the magic happens. Between the walls, a chocolate tree seems to take root on the floor , spreading its cocoa-scented branches above visitors. True to his perfectionism, Cédric Grolet has thought out every detail: some wall sections are covered with hazelnut-colored bricks resembling giant chocolate bars, while others evoke a melting chocolate icing. Huge sculpted cocoa beans, pistachios and peanuts seem to fall from the sky, and the mosaic floor, in shades of white, milk and dark chocolate, is reminiscent of a granita delicacy beneath our feet. The highlight of the show? Two golden trees forming a gourmet trompe-l’oeil ceiling.
A wall of melted cocoa, a trompe-l’oeil ceiling… a decor full of chocolate.
In fact, even the façade is not immune to the chef’s creative madness. Behind the counter where the sweets are presented, a wall dripping with melted cocoa gives the illusion of a giant chocolate fountain, while the immense chocolate treats hanging from the ceiling are also available in boxes. On the menu for sweet tooths: fruit in three chocolates, or chocolate-covered vanilla bears, among other surprises. A return to childhood from floor to ceiling… and right into your mouth.
Conceived as a deliciously regressive interlude, the boutique is literally mouth-watering. And in his own words, on the eve of the opening, Cédric Grolet feels “like a child”. We don’t know about you, but we at Paris Secret can’t wait to push open the doors of this chocolate paradise!
Official opening on October 18, 2025 at 11 a.m., at 33 avenue de l’Opéra, 75 002 Paris.
