Paris is an eternal enchantment for all those who take the time to explore it. Among the city’s hidden gems, its listed restaurants are not to be overlooked. Here, you can enjoy delicious traditional cuisine in absolutely magical surroundings. And it’s in this same vein that we invite you to discover (or rediscover) an institution of Parisian heritage: the Bouillon Racine. Opened in 1906, this century-old restaurant plunges you into the purest Art Nouveau style: carved woodwork, stained-glass windows and classy decor are all on the menu …
A breathtaking Art Nouveau centenarian bouillon in Paris

Since 1906, Bouillon Racine has been delighting Parisians with its warm, dazzling setting. The restaurant alone embodies the elegance of Art Nouveau codes. Between its ceramics with magnificent plant motifs, its stained-glass windows and old-fashioned mirrors…
The lovely almond-green sculpted woodwork almost gives the impression of being in the heart of a forest. A bold style that sets the aptly-named Bouillon Racine apart from the rest.

Located in the Latin Quarter, a stone’s throw from the Sorbonne, the restaurant was originally a popular eatery, serving its customers simple but generous and, above all, relatively inexpensive cuisine. In the 60s, the restaurant took an unexpected turn by becoming… a university canteen. Until 1993, professors and researchers from the university came here to eat between classes.

It wasn’t until 1996 that the restaurant was able to regain its former glory. A major renovation revived the splendor of its decor. On the menu, gourmets will delight in typically French cuisine: Burgundy snails for starters, duck breast from the South-West with morello cherry sauce for the main course, and a floating island for dessert… Believe us, you’ll be licking your lips! A lovely address that we strongly invite you to discover!
