When you think of Paris, you think of houseboats! While we love to admire them—and sometimes photograph them from every angle—there’s one in particular that has really caught our attention: L’eau et les rêves. This place is nothing more than a bookstore on the Seine! A magical spot we invite you to discover!
A bookstore on the water in Paris
Who would have thought there was a bookstore on the water in Paris? Located along the Ourcq Canal, the aptly named “L’eau et les rêves” is a fully landscaped houseboat that has been inspiring all book lovers for nearly 10 years. On the ground floor, you’ll find a wide selection of books on the environment, gardening, plants, and animals. Graphic novels, comics, essays… you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Throughout the year, the houseboat hosts free exhibitions of drawings and paintings, as well as artisans who come to showcase their creations: florists, potters… It’s impossible not to fall in love with it!
A bookstore… and a gourmet café on the banks of the Seine
This extraordinary bookstore prides itself on bringing people together. So what could be more natural than finding a café there? You can enjoy delicious hot drinks as well as a few treats for afternoon tea or Sunday brunch (for which we recommend making a reservation), all while admiring the canal.
The menu changes regularly with the seasons! And if the weather permits, you can even sit out on the barge’s terrace to soak up the sun. A charming, timeless spot that you’ll love exploring!
