Every year, the trompe-l-oeil website organizes the Golden Street Art, an unofficial competition to choose the most beautiful street art work produced in France each year. For the 2024 edition, 57 frescoes from the four corners of France were shortlisted by the site’s teams. As far as Paris is concerned, 3 works are in the running in the capital, and this number rises to 16 in the Île-de-France region. Get voting – the ballot is open until February 2!
Which are the best street art works in France?
Whether on the edge of the 13th arrondissement, in Belleville or on the banks of the Canal de l’Ourcq, street art is everywhere in Paris and beyond, and it’s not for the faint-hearted! And this January, it’s time for a retrospective, as it’s during this period that the Golden Street Art event has been held for the past 11 years. Organized by enthusiasts, this event pays homage to all street artists operating in France, as it showcases new frescoes created throughout the country.
Last year, Seyb ‘s megalodon garnered the most votes. The giant fresco of the giant shark at Savigné sur Lathan in Indre-et-Loire seems to have pleased the voters. To succeed it, 57 works are in the running, including 3 from Paris. For the first two, you’ll have to head for the 13th arrondissement, where Louyz has set up his “Amazonie parisienne” and Vinie has installed “assise sur des cordes”. Finally, the third Parisian work was created at the Necker hospital by the two Ensemble Réel artists.
So, if you want to take these works to the very top of Golden Street Art, all you have to do is vote!
