Every year, the Greater Paris Bakers’ Union organizes a competition to select the best pastry shop in the region, a contest closely followed by food lovers in the area. In 2026, the 17th edition of this award crowned a Parisian establishment that stands out for its inspired interpretation of the great classics of French pastry.
In the heart of the 13th arrondissement, the best pastry shop in Greater Paris
It is in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, at the Lorette bakery and pastry shop, that the best pastry shop in Greater Paris 2026 is now officially located. The artisan behind this distinction is Philippe Arsac, only 25 years old, who won over the jury with his creations in tests where technique and balance of flavors counted as much as mastery of baking.

For this edition, participants had to present two iconic pastries: chocolate éclairs and lemon tarts without meringue. These classic desserts were judged on specific criteria such as the baking of the pastry, the texture of the creams, the harmony of flavors, and the aesthetics of the presentation. It was on this demanding basis that Philippe Arsac succeeded in winning the competition, making his establishment a must-visit destination for dessert lovers in Greater Paris.
The chocolate éclair that won over the jury stands out in particular for its entirely chocolate-based choux pastry, enriched with a crispy cracker and filled with an intense cream by Valrhona. As for the lemon tart, the subtle use of bergamot brought a delicate freshness and an aromatic signature that made all the difference.
The podium for the 2026 edition also recognized Boulangerie Paris and Co in the 15th arrondissement and Les Délices de Fred in Perreux-sur-Marne.
For lovers of refined desserts and those curious to discover new sweet spots in Île-de-France, this award has become a real reference guide. So here’s a good reason to go and try the sweet treats at Lorette in the 13th arrondissement.
