After a first edition in the run-up to the 2024 Olympics, Benjamin Millepied, choreographer emeritus and former director of dance at the Paris Opéra, is back with the ambitious project of transforming the French capital into a giant dance stage. Dubbed La Ville dansée (The Danced City), these performances, part of the Paris Dance Project, promise to be a must-see event for fans of the genre.
A free Benjamin Millepied show in Paris
Spread over four days, from June 5 to 8, this event will take place in seven Parisian venues, carefully selected for their symbolism. They will be taken over by some fifteen choreographers from the Paris region, carefully chosen by Benjamin Millepied himself.
The originality of La Ville dansée lies in the diversity of the venues, both indoors and outdoors, which will host performances of the highest calibre. An artistic effervescence will take hold of the capital and its suburbs, where ephemeral creations will come to life, shaped by both established and emerging artists.
Spectators will have the opportunity to attend these unique moments free of charge by reserving their place. This is an exceptional opportunity to discover the innovative vision of Millepied and his collaborators, who have worked to merge the art of dance with very special Parisian venues.
The Paris Dance Project, led by Benjamin Millepied, offers an immersive artistic experience to be discovered, in order, on the parvis de la Défense, at the Monnaie de Paris, in Hall 2 of the Gare de Lyon, at the Cité du Cinéma, on the Esplanade de la Géode, at the AP-HP construction site in Saint-Ouen and finally at the Hangar Y.
