Take these days off to get the most vacation possible in 2025!
It’s the new year 2025! And no sooner have we returned from vacation, than we’re already dreaming up our next vacation. Would you prefer a road-trip, an all-inclusive with your feet spread out on the beach, a siesta and a book in the countryside, or Netflix & Chill at home? Whatever our respective tastes, one thing unites us: our need to disconnect and relax. But there’s one question on our minds: how can we optimize our time off in 2025? Are there any clever “tricks” for making the most of public holidays, without taking too much time off? The answer is yes! And, as luck would have it, this year all public holidays fall in the middle of the week, with the exception of All Saints’ Day, which falls on a Saturday.
Easter, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, Christmas… Find out more about public holidays in 2025, and plan your time off in the best possible way to enjoy long periods of relaxation. It’s the perfect way to start the new school year!
How to optimize your vacations in 2025? Our month-by-month tips for enjoying 60 days of rest, with just 23 days to spare:
January: take 2 days and enjoy 5 days off.
January 1, 2025 falls on a Wednesday. To benefit from 5 days off, all you need to do is postpone 2 days: Thursday January 2 and Friday January 3. Resumption scheduled for Monday, January 6. And happy new year!
April: 16 days of vacation, with 8 days for Easter!
After 3 short months of work, you could do with a few days’ rest, couldn’t you? Easter Monday (April 25, 2025) is a golden opportunity! Take 8 days off between April 22 and May 2 and enjoy 16 days of vacation. From Saturday, April 18 to Sunday evening, May 4.
May, do as you please. Yes, but with 8 days off and only 2 days on.
After resuming work on May 4, why not rest again on May 8, to mark Victory Day 1945? By taking only 1 day off (Friday May 9), you can take advantage of a long 4-day weekend (May 8 to 11). Bridging the gap: it’s a great idea!
The same goes for Ascension Day, which falls on May 29, 2025. For a change, take a day off and enjoy a 4-day weekend (May 29 to June 1). Ain’t life grand?
June: A 3-day weekend. Yes, but with a few conditions.
If (and only if) your company offers you the Solidarity Day for Pentecost (Monday June 9, 2025), the 3-day weekend is yours. Otherwise, see you in July!
July 14 is an extended weekend, with nothing to worry about.
In 2025, Bastille Day will fall on Monday, July 14! So you can enjoy a 3-day weekend, with nothing to worry about. It’s a win-win situation!
August: another 3-day weekend
In the summer of 2025, the Assumption will take place on Friday August 15. And the end or beginning of the week means a 3-day weekend! 4 days off if you take Thursday or Monday off: what are the people asking for?
Days to remember in November :
Tuesday November 11, 2025, another public holiday: Armistice Day! Put Monday November 10 aside for a 4-day weekend! You can also extend the pleasure by setting aside 4 days (Monday 10, Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 and Friday 14) and enjoy a real break, lasting 9 days.
Finishing in style in December
December is often synonymous with hardship and empty pockets. Train tickets that cost an arm and a leg, gifts galore and vacations to put down. But what about saving your days off? The promise? Enjoy 9 days of vacation by taking 4 days off (December 22, 23, 24 and 26). Enough to end 2025 on a high note!
