In Paris, a rare encounter between dance and heritage is scheduled for April 18 and 19, 2026, at the Louvre Museum. On the occasion of the exhibition “Michelangelo Rodin. Living Bodies,” the Paris Opera is entrusting an exceptional stage to the stars of its Ballet. For two evenings, under the famous Louvre Pyramid, classical dance will take on a new dimension, bringing the audience closer to the action in an iconic setting.
A magical ballet under the Louvre Pyramid
Rather than in the traditional halls of the Palais Garnier or the Opéra Bastille, the performances will take place under the glass structure of the pyramid. The setting is designed to create a rare sense of intimacy: the temporary stage will welcome eight dancers, including five stars, who will perform among the audience.
The program will feature iconic pas de deux as well as major choreographies such as Angelin Preljocaj’s Le Parc and musical works by Rachmaninov and Erik Satie. A special creation by dancer Yvon Demol will complete the program, designed to interact directly with the sculptures on display in the museum.
The performances will be accompanied live by musicians from the Paris Opera Orchestra, creating a truly magical moment. Two sessions are scheduled each evening, at 8pm and 9:30pm, and after the show, the audience will have the opportunity to prolong the experience by visiting the exhibition “Michel-Ange Rodin. Living Bodies” in a more intimate atmosphere, once the museum has closed to other visitors.
This is a rare opportunity to see one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies perform in such an iconic venue. That’s why we recommend getting your tickets quickly on the Louvre’s official website.
For lovers of dance, art, and extraordinary cultural evenings, these two nights in April promise to be unmissable events in the Parisian cultural calendar of 2026.
