The neighborhood bakery takes on a Roman flair in the 10th arrondissement. Between classic French pastries and Italian specialties, this spot is shaking up the local street food scene with bold combinations.
At Di Giù Pasticceria, large trays of pizza by the slice, priced at around €6 per slice, dominate the counter. The toppings are tailored directly to the seasonal vegetables available. Chef Giuseppe pushes culinary boundaries with a surprising hybrid dessert: a tiramisu designed and assembled in a mold to look exactly like a meat pie.
The snack section reimagines bakery staples. The traditional croissant is served here stuffed with a mixture of mushrooms, tender eggplant, and smoked scamorza. Even more unconventional, the Emmentaline takes the visual form of a pain au chocolat but switches to savory thanks to its cheese-filled pastry.
Traditional Italian recipes guide the shop’s sweet offerings. Generous cannoli sit alongside maritozzo, a large round brioche overflowing with cream. The founder’s philosophy highlights raw craftsmanship: “Everything is homemade. Everything is made here, by my own hands.” As an unexpected touch of freshness, the shop even offers ice cream made with olive oil.
