The project has faced delays, postponements, and numerous debates, but it is now entering its final phase. The CDG Express, the future direct link between Paris and Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport, is set to officially welcome its first passengers on March 28, 2027.
Everything you need to know about the CDG Express
The goal is simple: to offer a fast alternative to current routes to Roissy, particularly the RER B. Unlike the RER B, the CDG Express will not stop at any intermediate stations. The train will depart directly from Gare de l’Est and travel to the TGV station at Terminal 2 of Charles-de-Gaulle Airport. The trip is expected to take 20 minutes, compared to about 30 minutes today on the RER B, depending on operating conditions.
The frequency will also be quite high: a departure is scheduled every 15 minutes, from 5 a.m. to midnight, every day of the week. The service will therefore operate as a true shuttle dedicated to air travelers.

As for fares, this is probably the topic that’s generating the most discussion. A one-way ticket is expected to cost €25. However, Navigo pass holders will receive an announced discount of approximately 35%, while the trip will be free for accompanied children under 16.
However, the CDG Express will not be included in the standard Navigo pass. Passengers will therefore need to purchase a specific ticket, even those in the Paris region who already have a pass, though they will receive a discount. The service is positioned as a premium offering, designed primarily for travelers and tourists.
After more than two decades of discussions, the countdown has begun. If the schedule is met, starting in spring 2027, it will be possible to reach Roissy from the heart of Paris in just twenty minutes.
