The Cité du Cinéma is housed in a former power plant built in the early 20th century to supply power to the Paris Metro. Renovated to accommodate the Cité du Cinéma in 2012, this monumental site has since become an icon of French cinema history. And on October 2, a new chapter begins: after the turbines and film sets, it’s time for the turntables.
In 2026, the Cité du Cinéma will open a new chapter in its history and become a major cultural and event hub for Greater Paris. Across 12,000 square meters of renovated space, industrial heritage and contemporary creation will now come together around four main pillars: cinema, the performing arts, music, and media. Concerts, performances, exhibitions, screenings, festivals, and immersive experiences will set the pace for this new cultural destination throughout the year. And with FINAL CUT, music will kick things off.

Opening Final Cut: A New Chapter for the Cité du Cinéma
Dubbed “Opening Final Cut,” this inaugural event is organized by Wild Buzz Agency, Dure Vie, and Pedro Booking. The concept is simple on paper: to relocate “Central”—the festival launched by Pedro Booking and Dure Vie during several highly acclaimed editions at the Magasins Généraux—to the vast Nef hall at the Cité du Cinéma. This change of venue promises to be a change in scale.
On the program: a night designed to navigate between techno, house, and experimental music, featuring international guests like Patrick Mason—a true showman who spices up his sets with voguing-style dance interludes—and giants of the French scene such as Parisian DJ and producer Olympe 4000, known for her “90’s booty-bouncing adrenaline quality” and her political activism.

What remains unchanged, however, is the setting. The Nef at the Cité du Cinéma remains the highlight of the evening: a raw, industrial space where the building’s very architecture becomes an integral part of the set design. This temple of the seventh art will be transformed overnight into an indoor dance floor, complete with lighting effects and a sound system designed to showcase its extraordinary high ceilings.
