On December 16, get ready to be dazzled. Contemporary artist Mika Ninagawa will completely transform the Grand Palais for several months… Known for her colorful and highly fantastical world, Mika will exhibit *Alive in Shadows* there through March 2027. And this exhibition promises to be the most fascinating one of the year-end season.
A truly magical garden set up at the Grand Palais
From December 16, 2026, to March 21, 2027, the Grand Palais will be transformed into a truly magical place, straight out of Alice in Wonderland. Through photography, video, and various immersive installations, Mika will immediately transport you into his mesmerizing, dreamlike world.
The photographer has a gift for capturing nature where you least expect it: in urban settings or spaces shaped by human hands.
You’ll stroll through a garden of vibrant artificial flowers, populated by butterflies suspended here and there and goldfish… A poetic garden that makes us aware of nature’s beauty but also its fragility. The colors are deliberately vibrant and carry a gentle melancholy. Through various paths, you’ll enjoy a sensory, immersive, and above all deeply intimate—almost meditative—experience.
