Be sure to mark Saturday, November 14, on your calendars, as La Grande Épicerie de Paris and Le Food Market will take over part of Rue du Bac to host a grand open-air feast. From noon to 7 p.m., six wooden chalets will be set up between Rue de Babylone and Rue de Sèvres. Large banquet tables, DJ sets, hot drinks, and a Christmas ornament decorating workshop will round out this first edition, designed entirely for the holiday season. Admission is free.
This isn’t exactly the first time these two brands have teamed up. The Food Market had already taken over La Grande Épicerie in July 2025 to celebrate its tenth anniversary. This time, the format is changing with a true winter edition and recipes created especially for the day.
Naan raclette, lobster rolls, and a reimagined vol-au-vent are on the menu
As for the menu, Kuna will be serving naan topped with raclette, duck confit, and cow’s milk tomme cheese, while Birdy will offer its usual burgers as well as a creation specially designed for Christmas. At Meshuga, you’ll find a lobster roll, a tuna melt, and a smoked salmon sandwich.
Galette Café will be embracing the winter theme with a tartiflette-style galette featuring sausage and caramelized onions, a version with smoked salmon, and another with Fourme d’Ambert cheese. Oysters and crêpes will also be served. Delish, for its part, will offer a bagel with gravlax, a sausage roll, and baby potatoes.
La Grande Épicerie will finally have its own chalet. Its chef, Jérémie Valdès, will transform the vol-au-vent into a street-food version, with a rectangular shape designed to be eaten by hand. Three recipes are planned, including one vegetarian option and two meat-based options. On the sweet side, pastry chef Thibault Leroy will prepare a brioche pretzel with milk chocolate and fleur de sel.
Unlike traditional Christmas markets, La Grande Épicerie’s market will be a pop-up event lasting just one day, so be sure to make the most of it!
