Disney World, Universal, Cedar Point… All these entertainment giants are beloved around the world, but it’s a European family amusement park that’s taking all the honors right now. For the 11th time in its history, Europa-Park has won the title of “World’s Best Amusement Park” from the Golden Ticket Awards. This is a godsend for Parisians, who can now reach it in 2 hours and 34 minutes via a direct train.
More than 100 attractions and extraordinary roller coasters
Located in the town of Rust, just a few kilometers from the French-German border, Europa Park opened its doors to the public in 1975 and has continued to grow over the years. Today, more than 100 attractions are spread across its 95 hectares, and the park welcomed 7 million visitors in 2025.

What makes this immense amusement park unique—and likely part of its charm—is its division into 18 themed areas, each representing a European country. Visitors can travel from Greece to Iceland, from Spain to France or Croatia, all without leaving Rust. Naturally, the focus is on the scenery, which enhances the immersive experience as you move from one area to the next.
But beyond the atmosphere, the park owes its reputation above all to the many thrill rides that fill it. From Blue Fire and Silver Star to WODAN with its wooden frame, roller coasters abound at Europa-Park, much to the delight of its visitors. And since 2024, one attraction alone has been drawing crowds: Voltron Nevera, a state-of-the-art, multi-award-winning roller coaster.

While Europa Park is beloved for its scenery and attractions, its relatively short wait times and the park’s overall management are also highly appreciated by visitors.
For these reasons and many others, this massive amusement park is considered by many to be the best in the world. Just a train ride away from the capital, it’s a great idea for a getaway. And right now, Halloween has taken over the park, completely transforming the scenery with lights and some 180,000 pumpkins!
