Tables set with tablecloths, bottle-green banquettes, large mirrors on the walls, and a menu deeply rooted in tradition: Aux Crus de Bourgogne boasts a history dating back to 1932. Located in the heart of Les Halles, this spot is part of the neighborhood’s long line of historic bistros.
Here, beef bourguignon is one of the house specialties, alongside large Burgundy snails, pâté en croûte, Châteaubriand with Béarnaise sauce, and chicken with vin jaune and morel mushrooms. The desserts follow the same theme, featuring profiteroles, rum baba, and other brasserie classics.
A Montorgueil neighborhood institution since 1932
Inside, you’ll find the charm and atmosphere of an old Parisian brasserie, with neatly arranged tables, imposing mirrors, and a truly traditional ambiance. The restaurant is now run by the Dumant family, who also own several other Parisian bistros. The philosophy remains the same: to preserve a certain French bistro culture while keeping the establishment vibrant day to day.

And of course, with a name like that, wine plays a major role. Burgundy wines are well-represented, ranging from affordable appellations to more prestigious bottles—the perfect accompaniment to the bœuf bourguignon or other dishes served in sauce.
Although Les Halles has left Paris, Montorgueil has become one of the busiest areas in the city center, and the old bistros have gradually given way to more contemporary venues. But Aux Crus de Bourgogne proves that there are still authentic gourmet spots in the heart of Paris!
