For his fifth apostolic journey, the Pope will visit France from September 25 to 28. And amid the very busy schedule awaiting him in the capital, the famous walk through the streets of Paris will likely be the most anticipated moment of the weekend. Schedule, itinerary, route: here’s everything you need to know about this visit.
The schedule for the Pope’s walk through Paris
The first papal visit to Paris since Benedict XVI in 2008, Pope Leo XIV’s visit is a historic event! The first stop on his tour of France, his visit to Paris will be followed by stops in Lourdes and Metz. And for this weekend in the capital, the highlight will be this procession through the streets, where he will meet with Parisians.
Scheduled for 4:00 p.m., this papamobile ride will follow a route along two boulevards in the heart of Paris. Starting from the Notre-Dame-des-Champs Church, the pontiff will travel along Boulevard du Montparnasse before turning onto Boulevard Saint-Michel and ending his route at the square of the same name. On site, several entry points will be set up around the perimeter of the area, which is divided into 12 reception zones.

Along the entire route, starting at noon, nearly 50 amateur music groups will join the celebration and create a festive and friendly atmosphere at the heart of this event. To attend, no registration or ticket is required— admission is completely free. Just be sure to arrive a little early to secure a good spot.
This walk is part of a rather busy Parisian schedule for the pope. On Friday, the head of the Catholic Church will visit the Élysée Palace, UNESCO, and Notre-Dame de Paris, among other places. On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., nearly 500,000 people are expected to gather between the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées for the famous Mass.
