Jedes Jahr folgt ein Sternschnuppenregen auf den anderen und beschert uns ein schillerndes Schauspiel in der Nacht. Und in dieser Herbstzeit sind die Orioniden an der Reihe, den Himmel zu erleuchten! Bis zum 7. November können Sie dieses magische Phänomen beobachten, wenn das Wetter mitspielt. Wie auch immer, wir erklären Ihnen, wie Sie Ihre Chancen, diese wunderschönen Meteore zu bewundern, maximieren können!
Ein neuer Sternschnuppenregen am französischen Himmel mit den Orioniden.
Für alle, die sich für Astronomie interessieren, ist es unmöglich, die Perseiden zu übersehen, den Sternschnuppenregen, der unsere Sommernächte mit einem Spitzenwert von 100 Meteoren pro Stunde erhellt hat! Und erst kürzlich hatten wir das Glück, die Begegnung mit Tsuchinshan-Atlas, dem „Kometen des Jahrhunderts“, zu machen. Doch in der aktuellen Herbstsaison sind die Orioniden an der Reihe, uns zu verzaubern. Diese Meteore, die seit Oktober im Gange sind und derzeit ihren Höhepunkt beobachten, werden in diesem Jahr nie mehr zu sehen sein als jetzt, also ist es an der Zeit, nach oben zu blicken!
Dieser Regen, der vom Halleyschen Kometen stammt, befindet sich im Sternbild Orion und ist nördlich des Sterns Beteigeuze zu sehen. Genau dorthin müssen Sie Ihren Blick richten, um einen der Meteore zu sehen. Suchen Sie sich um Mitternacht einen dunklen Ort (möglichst außerhalb der Stadt und ihrer Lichtverschmutzung), legen Sie sich auf den Rücken und richten Sie Ihre Füße nach Südosten aus, damit Sie den Himmel nach weißen Streifen absuchen können.
Natürlich müssen Sie auch mit dem Wetter rechnen, das im Herbst etwas launisch sein kann. Wenn der Himmel klar und wolkenlos ist, steigen die Chancen um ein Vielfaches.
