Let’s face it, no one dreams of taking the metro during rush hour. With people pushing to get in or out of the train, the subway’s non-existent air conditioning and overcrowded seats, it’s easy to regret being there. Yet every day, millions of people use the Paris metro to get around, especially to get to work. But did you know that with the Navigo Pass , you can take a boat? We explain!
Taking the boat with your Navigo Pass
It’s an advantage that few Parisians are aware of, but one that could make all the difference to your journeys this summer. Thanks to your Pass Navigo , you can benefit from a 5-euro discount on Batobus journeys, and avoid crowded, suffocating underground metro trains when you leave the office.

All you have to do is present your pass at one of the Batobus ticket offices to benefit from the discount! You can take a 24 h pass (at 18 euros instead of 23 euros), a 48 h pass (22 euros instead of 27 euros) or an annual ticket, where the discount is even greater: 53 euros instead of 73 euros.

Although the Batobus was originally designed for tourists passing Paris’s most beautiful monuments, it is nonetheless an extremely pleasant means of transport in summer. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in high season, the Batobus serves nine stations, including Les Invalides, Saint-Germain-des-près, Notre-Dame and Place de la Concorde. The journey takes two hours, but unlike a bateau-mouche, you can stop whenever you like. Just like on a bus!

If you’re lucky enough to work along the Seine, this is the ideal way to get around without getting too crowded. And if you’ve got a little more time on your hands, the batobus is just the thing to get away from it all and see the capital in a whole new light.
