Holi, the Indian festival of colors, returns to Paris. This year in Paris, the rainbow-hued day will be celebrated on May 18, 2025 at the Jardin d’Acclimatation. Ready for an explosion of color and joy?
A traditional Indian festival
Every year in India, Hindus celebrate Holi, the “Festival of Colors” . This spectacular two-day celebration marks the spring equinox. On the first day, a huge bonfire is lit for the Holika Dahan ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. On the second day, the locals don immaculate white garments and parade through the streets, throwing coloured pigments at each other with the aid of guns filled with coloured water.
Each color has its own symbolism. Green for harmony, red for joy and love, blue for vitality. At Holi, colors and wishes intermingle, forming a multicolored cloud of hope. From India to Paris, at the Jardin d’Acclimatation, Holi is a unique opportunity to get together, share and celebrate life.
