On June 3, the hill of Élancourt, located 1 h from Paris in the Yvelines region, was officially recognized as such. And surprise, it surpasses the Butte de Rosne to become the highest point in the Ile-de-France region, at 231.61 m above sea level.
Known as a favorite spot for mountain bikers and thrill-seekers, the hill offers a 55 m vertical drop. The results obtained by the surveyors during their latest analysis in June will be used by the commune of Élancourt to maintain the site and the cycle paths still in use today. After the Olympic Games, the site underwent 10 long months of redevelopment work and was closed to the public. Since its official reopening last May, the hill has become a veritable sports and landscape park , offering a wide range of activities for sports enthusiasts and the whole family alike.
