If you’re looking for a getaway without straying too far from Paris, we’ve found the perfect spot for you. Did you know that on the heights of Saint-Cloud lies a huge footbridge surrounded by nature? From here, you can admire the Eiffel Tower, which seems almost hidden in the trees.
A magnificent footbridge at the gateway to Paris, with a view of the Eiffel Tower
You already know the Saint-Cloud estate for its remarkable château and gardens. But you’re probably less familiar with the Avre footbridge perched high above it. Yet it offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside and the Eiffel Tower.

Very popular with joggers and cyclists, this large footbridge offers an extremely pleasant stroll. It was even designed by Gustave Eiffel himself , who worked on the perspective so that onlookers could enjoy his tower. With the Bois de Boulogne, the Seine at our feet and the Eiffel Tower in the background, it couldn’t be more spectacular.

In fact, the two structures have one thing in common: their metal structure, straight from Gustave Eiffel’s workshops. At 450 m long, it takes its name from the Avre aqueduct and provides a pleasant walkway to the Bois de Boulogne. It is thanks in part to this aqueduct that 80 million liters of drinking water are delivered daily to the city of Paris.
With its enchanting setting and lampposts, you’ll love taking a stroll here. It’s a little-known place for Parisians to discover.
